An educational event on fire safety was held at “Dendrology Garden”

An educational event on fire safety was held at the “Dendrology Garden” public legal entity (PLE) under the authority of the head of the Executive Power of Baku City. The event was attended by staff of the “Dendrology Garden” PLE, Colonel Azer Seyidzadeh, chief of the Khazar District State Fire Defense Department. 
Azer Seyidzadeh made a speech on “Ensuring fire safety in green areas and preventive measures”. He said that the increased risk of fire in greening areas, especially in hot and dry weather, necessitates further strengthening of safety measures. 
According to the head of the department, it is crucial to regularly clean greening and greenery areas from dry grass, leaves, dried branches, glass fragments and other flammable materials. 
“Using open fire, making uncontrolled fires and throwing cigarette butts on the ground are unacceptable in greenery areas. Areas with high fire risk should be identified in advance and control measures should be strengthened in those areas,” he noted. He noted that it is significant to always keep primary fire extinguishing means, water supplies and necessary equipment in good condition and ready for utilize. 
Also, roads should be kept open for unhindered access of firefighting equipment to the area. 
Azer Seyidzadeh said that it is necessary to regularly inform staff on the rules of conduct during a fire, first aid, initial intervention and evacuation measures. 
It was noted that in the event of a fire, people should be removed from the dangerous area and the relevant agencies should be immediately informed. It was noted that the timely and systematic implementation of preventive measures plays a vital role in protecting greenery areas, trees and vegetation from fires. 
The head of the “Organization of Territorial Protection Work” sector of the “Dendrology Garden” PLE, Sadig Aliyev, provided information on the work done to ensure fire safety in the garden territory. He said that preventive measures are regularly carried out in order to prevent fire risks in the area. The garden area is cleaned of broken glass, dry and flammable sticks, as well as other waste that may pose a fire hazard in a timely manner. The focus is on keeping the area clean and tidy at all times, especially the timely removal of dry grass and plant residues from the area. 
According to Sadig Aliyev, fire safety measures are further strengthened in hot and dry weather conditions and control over the area is intensified. In addition, educational work is being carried out to ensure that staff comply with fire safety rules, utilize primary fire extinguishing agents correctly, and act promptly in case of any danger.
