Peony - Paeonia officinalis L. introduced to the territory of the Dendrology Garden

As part of the scientific research work carried out to enrich the diversity of decorative species, the Peony - Paeonia officinalis L. species brought from the southern zone (Lankaran city) was introduced to the territory of the garden by the staff of the “Landscape Architecture and Systematics” laboratory of the “Dendrology Garden” public legal entity (PLE).
The basic aim of the research is to study the adaptation features of peony species to the soil-climatic conditions of the Absheron Peninsula, analyze their biomorphological indicators and evaluate them as promising decorative plants. At the same time, the vegetation dynamics, flowering period, ecological sustainability and adaptation indicators of the species are being studied.
It should be noted that Paeonia officinalis L. is a perennial plant widely used in landscape architecture with its high decorative properties, large and aesthetic flowers. The species is of particular importance in creating decorative compositions in park, garden and greening projects.
Currently, the study of the development characteristics of the introduced species in Absheron conditions is continuing. In the future, the species is intended to be used in the landscape design of the Dendrology Garden in the creation of various compositions.
